In Baile Felix spa resort, EUR 50 mil. will be invested in developing an aqua park and a hotel. The representatives of Sanmartin municipality announced that the technical project and the feasibility study for the projects have been completed.
The aqua park is on the list of projects of the Ministry for Regional Development and Tourism, MDRT and will be financially supported from the state budget, worth EUR 30 mil. the deadline to complete the aqua park being within 24 months from choosing the company in charge with the project.
The investment in the hotel reaches EUR 20 mil. but the financing support has not been established yet.
Moreover, approximately EUR 482,000 will be invested in Baile Felix resort this year, in order to modernize the streets, the water supply and sewerage networks and also the sidewalks.The financial sources will be the local and state budget. In 2009, Baile Felix resort reported an increase by 22% of tourists, up to 85,200, compared to 70,000 in 2008, according to the data from the Sanmartin city hall. The increase is the result of developing more accommodation facilities in 2008, which become available in 2009.
