Add comment

On January 29 the Romanian Government approved the annual Program of marketing and promoting and annual Program of development of destinations and tourism products.

This year, tourism promotion will follow the same strategy as last year. The budget allocated reaches approximately EUR 5 mil. to attend international fairs and exhibits.

In 2009, the budget for promotion was EUR 12 mil. for fairs, concerts, promotion materials in order to attract Romanian and foreign tourists.

According to the marketing program, the ministry will develop and administrate a website providing tourism information, but will not give up the traditional methods of promotion, such as educational trips within the country and abroad for journalists, as well as for tour-operators, travel agents and tourism specialists.

Minister Elena Udrea envisages developing and projecting commercials in the main airports in the country and abroad, as well as on aircrafts.

Regarding foreign promotion, the ministry will continue to attend the events held on the main markets in the sector by setting up national exhibition areas.
