EUR 4.76 mil. for rehabilitating Craiova Airport

Ion Prioteasa, President of Dolj County Council, announced that Craiova International Airport will be rehabilitated following EUR 4.76 mil. investment, supported by Dolj County Council budget.

The rehabilitation process of the airport includes developing a unique cover for the facades of five existing buildings. The spaces will be expanded on 10,000 sq m, destined to travel agencies, banks but also to food & beverage facilities.

Prioteasa stated that the tender offers of 27 companies interested in the investment for Craiova Airport rehabilitation were opened last week.

Dolj County Council invested other EUR 476,000 in rehabilitating the taking off-landing runway of the airport. Half of the road bays were replaced and the landing runway was marked.

The representative of Dolj County Council also stated that the Instrument Landing System (ILS) is currently assembled to facilitate plane landing at low visibility. The system implied a EUR 2 mil. investment.
