The National Administration of Macin Mountains National Park won a project worth EUR 3 mil. for developing the tourism potential of the region.
Viorel Rosca, chief of the National Park Administration, stated the project financing will start on May 1st and envisages the development of the infrastructure and highlight the local traditions and folk handicrafts. Macin Mountains National Park has 6 licensed tourist trails. The Park administration was selected following a project competition held with the participation of the administrations of 27 protected areas, willing to develop a Local Tourism Centre to promote tourism potential in the region, stated Rosca. Greci locality hall has already provided 1,800 sq m of land near the Park to develop the Tourism Centre, where folk and traditional handicrafts known in the area of Macin Mountains will be presented, also stated Viorel Rosca.
