Over 35 caves located in Apuseni National Park, out of which Cetatile Ponorului, Piatra Altarului and Ghetarul from Focul Viu will be promoted for tourism, within a project of Cluj Napoca Initiative Centre for Environment, together with Apuseni Natural Park Administration. The project implies developing a rescue plan in case of underground accidents and documentation about the caves in Romanian, Hungarian, English, French and German. Moreover, campaigns to stimulate the interest for nature of local people and visitors in the Apuseni Natural Park will be promoted. Inside the visitor centres of Apuseni Park, 4 information offices will be set up, with monitors to provide details about each of more than 35 caves. The project is scheduled to unfold until March 2011 in Cluj, Alba and Bihor counties, included in the Apuseni Natural Park. The total value of the project exceeds EUR 290,000.
