National Association for Consumers’ Protection and Promotion of Programs and Strategies from Romania, ANPCPPS Romania, launched a project worth EUR 230,860 to promote Romania as an attractive and safe destination for tourism. EUR 155,810 of the project’s value will be allocated from the European Union, while the difference will come from the own funds and the state budget.

The project titled “Passport of Tourism Services Consumer – An independent Guide for promoting Romania as safe and attractive European-destination” is part of the Regional Operational Program co-financed by the European Union, through the European Fund for Regional Development.

The program will be implemented between October 20, 2009 and October 19, 2011.

By promoting the main tourist attractions and the rights and obligations of tourism consumers in Romania, in order to increase the attractiveness of Romania as tourist destination, the project will contribute to the development of domestic tourism through the increase in confidence of the Romanian and foreign tourists in tourist services within Romania, as it shows a press release of the association.

Therefore, a guide containing information on domestic destinations and rights and obligations of tourists in Romania will be carried out. The guide will be printed in all languages of EU member states and also in Russian, Turkish, Arabian and Hebrew.

In addition to the print, a portal will be created within the project, both in Romanian and English, containing the guide information.
