Constantin Teodorescu, development manager of Mihail Kogalniceanu Airport in Constanta, stated that a new cargo terminal will be developed, following a EUR 225,000 investment.
The terminal will become operational most probably in Q4 of 2009. Teodorescu estimates traffic up to 10,000 tones annually. At present, the airport in Constanta operates cargo too, without benefiting of a specialized terminal in this sense.
The investments to be made at Mihail Kogalniceanu Airport also envisage consolidating and rehabilitating the platform for aircrafts and the increase of the parking capacity of cars from 200 up to approximately 600 lots, following an increase of passengers’ number.
Cristian Pavalasc is the new General Manager of Mihail Kogalniceanu Airport. The Minister of Transport, Radu Berceanu nominated him as GM on April 1. Pavalasc replaced Titus Cazacu, who will occupy the operational manager position.
