EUR 2 mil. from holiday tickets sales

Elena Udrea, Minister for Tourism, stated that until now sales from holiday tickets reached EUR 2 mil., most of them being awarded by private sector companies.

At present, the project for the holiday tickets law still has to be finally approved by the Parliament.

Also, Udrea said that the two big promotion campaigns carried out by the Ministry of Tourism this year, Bucovina for Easter and Seaside for the 1st of May, according to ANAT data, generated revenues of EUR 8 mil. and 120,000 tourists.

At Government budget adjustments, the budget of Ministry of Tourism was cut from EUR 94.5 mil. to EUR 83.9, representing 0.06% from GDP. Supporting local authorities for investments in tourism infrastructure is the major component of the budget, representing 73%.
