Covasna County Council plans to set up a visitor center within Mestecanisul natural reservation in Reci, in order to stimulate tourism development without affecting the environment.
The project, approved on April 9th within the council’s meeting, includes acquiring a plot of land of approximately 2.4 ha and developing a complex centre which will comprise, among others, a school for those interested in natural sciences, exhibits and lecture halls, a library and work spaces for traditional artisans.
The project is valued at EUR 2 mil., Covasna County Council plans to access funds within the Sectorial Operational Program.
Mestecanisul natural reservation in Reci owns a valuable flora besides birch trees. The law protects rare species of fern, white water lilies and variegated tulips located there.
