Elena Udrea, the Minister of Regional Development and Tourism, signed at Neptun a financing contract through the Regional Operational Program which envisages the development of a specific infrastructure for the health and business tourism, as well as developing the services provided by Mediteraneo club, Neptun resort.
The project worth EUR 2.24 mil. will be completed within 21 months. EUR 1.57 mil. represent the eligible amount, including EUR 1.10 mil. the contribution of the European Union through the Regional Development European Fund and EUR 470,000 the beneficiary’s contribution.
The business tourist segment will increase by 5% following the investments, while the average length of stay will increase from 3 days to 6-7 days. Also the share of foreign tourists in total tourist is expected to increase from 5% to 10%.
