On February 6, the Minister of Regional Development and Tourism, Elena Udrea and the county authorities in Suceava signed a financing contract regarding the rehabilitation of Suceava Citadel and its protection area.
The project Rehabilitation of the Old Citadel of Suceava will be completed within 60 months and envisages increasing the attractiveness of the citadel in order to develop tourism, through restoration, urban architecture, creating parking lots, rehabilitating access paths and developing a tourism information center.
The total project budget is EUR 12.53 mil, out of which EUR 8.57 mil. represent contribution from the European Union. Udrea specified the investment projects in tourism will continue and that numerous mountain resorts could be developed to attract tourists in Bucovina region.
