One of the measures included in recovery plan of Romanian economy, to be analyzed by the Ministry of Finance, envisages issuing 100,000 holiday tickets per year with a total value of EUR 47 mil. The tickets are to be used by companies as an incentive to their employees and are expected to boost Romanian tourism, stated Bogdan Hossu, president of the syndicate confederation Cartel Alfa. A similar public program, offering 130,000 treatment tickets for retired persons, has been in place for many years.
Romanian tourism operators demanded the introduction of such holiday tickets in the recovery plan elaborated by the local tourism associations, so that any company might have the option to add them in the salary package of their employees, stated Dragos Anastasiu, president of the National Association of Travel Agencies.
Anastasiu specified that the necessary money for holiday tickets might be compensated with the salary tax.
