ABOUT US
The company started up in 2002 under the name FIVESTAR COMFORT, aiming to become a player in the Romanian hotel guest supplies distribution market, representing well known suppliers from Germany.
Until the end of 2003, the company owner used its infrastructure to independently participate in strategy consulting projects.
In 2004, capitalizing on 6 years of strategy consulting expertise and perceiving new development opportunities, the decision was made to change the trajectory of the company towards becoming a consulting company specialized in the hospitality industry.
Since the end of 2006, once the start-up period was over. a time of accelerated absorption of specialized industry knowledge, working in projects and choosing post-graduate education organized by the Royal Institute of Hospitality Management, a cooperation with ECOLE HOTELIERE DE LAUSANNE – Switzerland under the high patronage of the ROYAL HOUSE of ROMANIA, the company goes through a complete REBRANDING process, working afterwards under the brand FIVESTAR HOSPITALITY, a local brand which penetrated rapidly the entire Romanian hospitality industry with the support of the Romanian Hospitality Newsletter (romanian version since march 2005, english version since september 2007).Following joint team, higher complexity projects done in cooperation with HORWATH HTL office in Zagreb, Fivestar Hospitality becomes at the beginning of 2009 the local partener of HORWATH HTL Zagreb, which is covering all South-East European countries: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, FYR Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova.

Sorin Ionescu – Managing Partner Graduate of the “Politehnica” University Bucharest – Engineering Sciences German Department and the German College, Goethe in Bucharest, Sorin Ionescu continued his higher education with a post-graduate diploma signed by Her Royal Highness The Princess Margarita of Romania, Mr. Ruud Reuland – General Director of Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne (EHL) and Mr. Dumitru Porojan, vice-president of the Royal Foundation of Hospitality Management. His career began in 1998 going successively through the experience in 2 multinational strategy consulting companies, Cap Gemini and Roland Berger Strategy Consulting. In 2002 he started up a specialized consulting company which is on growth course ever since. Sorin Ionescu combines his multi-industrial competencies (hospitality real estate, fmcg, banking, energy, pharma, automotive) with methodological competencies in fields like development, pre-opening and hotel management: F&B management, IT, M&A, finance, organization/ standards, marketing and sales, procurement, HR, creating services adapted to the needs of each individual client. He speaks German, English, French and Romanian and he is also an enthusiastic skier.
Zoran Kasum, Horwath HTL Zagreb supporting Project Manager Born in Zagreb in 1975, Zoran Kasum earned his BA in Economics in 2002 specialising in Marketing at the University of Zagreb. Zoran is completing his postgraduate studies in the field of marketing at the University of Zagreb.Zoran joined the team of Horwath Consulting Zagreb in 2002, and since then he has been invloved in numerous and various projects of market research, market analyses, strategic and operational marketing planning in tourism and hospitality industry, innovative development concepts, and establishing and monitoring quality management. With work experience from Canada and high creativity, Zoran has been actively developing modern marketing concepts for the largest tourist and hotel companies in Croatia. Zoran spends his free time playing football and likes amateur photography. Ina Rodin , Horwath HTL Zagreb supporting Senior Consultant Ina was born in Čapljina in 1978. Earned Mr.sc. Degree in Economics and Tourism at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. Graduated at Zagreb Faculty of Economics with major in tourism. Earlier she was employed by Valamar Hotels and Resorts, the leading Croatian hotel management company, and was involved in hotel operations for 40 properties and product development / investment project management. She had similar duties and responsibilities during her employment in Bernardin Hotels in Slovenia. Joining Horwath team recently she specializes in the areas of hotel and resort planning and development as well as destination master planning and providing hotel management advisory services. Ina is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI, Washington DC, USA). She likes to spend her free time travelling and hanging out with friends, visiting concerts and going in for sport. Carmen Tache – Newsletter editor, Executive Assistant Graduate of the “Dimitrie Cantemir” University – Tourism and business administration, and currently studying for master of tourism business administration within the same institution, Carmen Tache ensures the team bonding ingredient from her executive assistant and newletter editor position, a strategic position in the process of delivering of the Romanian Hospitality Newsletter, a product launched in March 2005 which eversince is stimulating the change and growth of the hospitality industry in Romania. She speaks English, Macedonian and Romanian.
Nicoleta Gaie – Executive assistant Student at Romanian-American University in the senior year, Nicoleta is doing all jobs related to an Executive assistant position and is also involved in all permanent projects of the company. She speaks English and Romanian.
The portfolio of competences is completed by our strategic partnership with HORWATH HTL Zagreb, and by partnerships with companies in consulting, market research, training, architecture and structural funds.
