At the end of the month, Delta Tour in canoe will be initiated, lasting between 7 and 14 days. The program will end in September. Delta Tour in canoe might imply traveling on a 20 km distance per day with a canoe for two. The trail is chosen according to water level. The canoe follows the water current so that tourists find it easier to advance. The program is operated by two travel agencies and eco-labeled by Eco-tourism Association in Romania. The idea of these tours is to visit Danube Delta and protect nature at the same time, as canoe is a 100% eco mean of transportation, stated Tiberiu Tioc, President of Friends of Nature Romania organization, one of the organizers of Delta Tour in canoe.
The problems the program met until now are related to boats crossing Delta’s channels in high speed and the wastes.
