Danube cruises bring 30% more tourists in Romania

The Chief Commissar of Mehedinti County Inspectorate of Border Police, Valeriu Pera, stated that tourism activity on Danube river in Mehedinti county increased in the current summer season by approximately 30%, compared to the similar period in 2008.

The number of foreign tourists coming by cruise ships on Danube reached 3,200 from the 1st of June until now.

Since the beginning of the year, Drobeta Turnu Severin Marina was transited by 1,992 ships, 600 more than in the same period last year.
