The representatives of the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT) foresee this year that the highest increase in tourism sector will be registered by the cruises segment, roundly 40%, up to EUR 3 – 4 mil.
The number of Romanian tourists choosing both Ocean and Mediterranean cruises is expected at 4,000 – 5,000.
The tourists continuing to choose exotic holidays are individuals with above average income, segment to be less affected by the crisis, unlike middle class and under middle class, stated Traian Badulescu, ANAT spokesman.
More, the representatives of travel agencies foresee sales up to EUR 20 mil. for exotic destinations, amount including cruises, too.
In 2009, the representatives of ANAT estimate that over 10,000 tourists will go on vacations in cruises and will take trips towards exotic destinations.
