The Ministry of Tourism closed the procedure of public acquisition of services to develop the promotion campaign internationally. CNN and Eurosport channels were chosen. According to the release of the Ministry of Tourism, three companies submitted tenders to participate to the auction, Eurosport SA to broadcast the commercials on a Pan-European sport channel and SC Media Communication, respectively Best Advertising&Consult - Opti Media SRL partnership to broadcast on the international news channel. According to the data provided to the Ministry by European Media and Marketing Survey, EMS, Eurosport channel is the paneuropean channel with the highest ratings, while CNN is the international news channel with the highest ratings. The Ministry of Tourism will acquire the services of broadcasting 550 commercials on Eurosport and 475 commercials on Eurosport 2, a sponsorship campaign on Eurosport channel of 325 billboards of six seconds and a broadcasting campaign on the internet of 9,000,000 banners. These services lead to a budget of EUR 1 mil. The Ministry will also purchase the services for broadcasting 529 commercials on CNN from the Advertising&Consult - Opti Media SRL Partnership, which provided the lowest price at highest rating hour, for EUR 334,950, VAT not included. Romania - Land of choice campaign will be presented on the two channels, Eurosport and CNN from August till December 2009 and targets the increase in the number of foreign tourists in Romania.
