Business clients are switching to low-cost flights

The representatives of several airlines stated that low-cost companies registered an increase on business segment up to 20%, once the economic crisis generalized, while traditional airlines registered a decrease of passengers number.

The Blue Air’s representatives stated business segment of the company accounts for over 10%. They specified that the business segment benefits of the corporate program through the new offices in Malaga, London and Sibiu which provide flexibility to those travelling often and have the possibility to save up to 50% if they choose to pay in advance a package of at least 30 tickets.

My Air low cost company registered a 30% increase of passengers on business segment from the second half of the last year until now.

Lufthansa company foresees this year a slightly decrease on business segment due to the present economic context. In 2008, the business segment accounted for approximately 20% within the traffic on long distance flights representing a slight increase compared to 2007, stated the general sales manager for Romania and Moldova, Stefan Versemann.
