British Airways airline representatives stated that they cut tariffs for the business class almost three times, in order to stimulate passengers’ traffic.
Emil Delibasev, Commercial Manager of British Airways for Balkan region, stated that it was the first year when they introduced promotions for ticket prices. If the cheapest ticket price at business class has a price of EUR 1,400 in 2008, at present the prices start at EUR 489 for onward trip with departure from Bucharest. For economic class, passengers can buy tickets with EUR 99, all taxes included for a flight on Bucharest- London route, during the next 15 days.
British Airways operates 21 weekly flights on Bucharest - London route and foresees a number of passengers by the end of the year, similar to last year, but lower turnover.
In the last 5 years, the company had the highest market share on this route, as Romania is one of the main markets in Europe, the sixth considering the revenues criteria, outrunning Poland, stated Delibasev.
