Brasov city hall will host on August 6 an auction to nominate the company in charge with developing the ski area of the city, especially in Poiana Brasov resort, stated George Scripcaru, Mayor of Brasov. The project worth EUR 70-80 mil. will be completed within 3 years. It includes developing the ski area, construction of a resevoire lake and a cable transport equipment. The necessary funds will be covered by the Ministry of Tourism, stated Scripcaru. The first phase ending by this year envisages construction of a reservoire lake in the mountain, at Cristianul Mare. The necessary investment is estimated at EUR 2.5 mil. Brasov Mayor stated that three new ski slopes will be developed in the area, connecting Poiana Brasov resort and Rasnov locality. Moreover, Scripcaru stated that the municipality plans to cable connect Brasov and Poiana Brasov but this is a separate project, worth EUR 6-7 mil.
