Blue Air low-cost airline will introduce flights from Larnaca towards Warsaw, Milan and Vienna. The operator has recently opened an operational base in Cyprus, at Larnaca, envisaging to consolidate its position on the international market.
The operator estimates an occupancy of 75% on the routes from Larnaca and transporting 160,000 passengers this year.
Sherif Ussama, the new General Manager of Blue Air, stated that the company plans to develop a network of domestic flights in Cyprus, planning to introduce flights on Larnaca - Paphos route.
Gheorghe Racaru, Strategy and Development Manager of the group controlled by Nelu Iordache, stated that Blue Air covered 65% of the flights operated on Romania - Cyprus route in 2009.
In 2009, Blue Air posted EUR 140 mil. turnover and estimates a 40% increase this year. The number of passengers transported last year reached 1.7 mil. persons on flights, operated towards 50 destinations in Europe.
