Starting May, Blue Air low-cost company will introduce the first flights from Sibiu to Milan and Rome and starting June, new flights from Bacau to London and Valencia.
Moreover, in June, Blue Air will operate a new frequency to Barcelona. In summer schedule 2009, Blue Air included six new destinations for March-October period, from Romania to Salonic, Paphos, Napoli, Bolonia, Milan, Reus and an external flight Paphos-Salonic. Blue Air also introduced new round trip destinations to Greece, Cyprus and Italy.
The company’s fleet currently consists of eight Boeing 737 aircrafts. In 2008, the company signed contracts to acquire five more planes, Boeing 737 Next Generation.
In the first quarter of the current year, Blue Air transported 201,000 passengers, 10% more than the same period in 2008, stated Florentina Ivan, marketing manager of the company. The average occupancy rate was 71% in the analysed period, 1% more than the same period last year.
