Danut Prisecariu, businessman from Iasi, invested EUR 9 mil. in order to buy and upgrade Rapsodia hotel in Botosani, which was affiliated to Best Western chain. The investment in Rapsodia hotel was supported both by own sources as well as by a loan from OTP Bank. Best Western Rapsodia has 150 rooms, 3 and 4 star classified, and is the forth hotel in the portfolio of Turism Moldova company, controlled by Prisecariu, who also owns the 4 star Traian hotel, the 3 star Astoria Hotel and the 3 star Studis hostel in Iasi. The representatives of Rapsodia hotel forecast EUR 2.2 mil. turnover for 2009, considering that 68 rooms, classified 4 star entered the market in June this year. In 2008, the company registered revenues of EUR 3.7 mil. Best Western reaches 13 hotels affiliated on the Romanian market, including Rapsodia Hotel. Prisecariu sold Molodva Mall commercial center to Equest investment fund at the beginning of 2006. The mall, which is located downtown Iasi city, was sold for EUR 34.5 mil. At present, the businessman develops a second mall downtown Botosani city, named Uvertura City Mall. Mall’s completion is scheduled for the first half of the next year, following EUR 25 mil. investment.
