The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, MTI forecasts that Aurel Vlaicu - Baneasa International Airport will register 15.36% higher revenues, up to EUR 22.75 mil., as a result of passengers traffic increase of low-cost companies, stated Marin Anton, state secretary within MTI.
Also, MTI estimates a 349.91% increase in gross profit for Baneasa Airport and 9.8% lower expenditures, from EUR 18.08 mil. In the first semester of this year, Baneasa airport registered 935,835 passengers, 26% more than compared to the similar period in 2008, when it registered 743,207 passengers.
Take offs and landings totalized 15,249, 17.8% more than the first semester in 2008, when the airport reported 12,943 aircrafts movements.
In the first six months, the airport reported a profit of over EUR 5.23 mil., revenues of EUR 12.66 mil. and expenditures of EUR 6.73 mil.
At the same time, within the proposal submitted for Governmental Decision regarding the Baneasa Airport income and expenditures budget modified for 2009, the salary fund is expected to increase by 6.62%, up to EUR 1.2 mil., while the average personnel number will increase by 20.48%.
