Athenee Palace Hilton in Bucharest: turnover falls by 20% in 1Q

Athenee Palace Hilton, 5 star classified, controlled by George Copos businessman, registered turnover decrease by 20% in the first quarter of 2009, compared to the similar period last year, at an occupancy rate lower by 18%.

Friedrich Niemann, general manager of the hotel stated the hotel still has the highest market share and forecasts the second quarter will be better than the first, based on the new contracts signed.

In 2008, Athenee Palace Hilton hotel registered a 6% increase in turnover and of 10% in profit, compared to the previous year when the turnover was approximately of EUR 21.6 mil.
