Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel in Bucharest estimates a turnover 15-20% lower than the last year for the first quarter of 2009, as a result of accommodation tariffs which decreased by 20-25%, stated the general manager of the hotel, Friedrich Niemann.
Niemann stated the hotel had to cut tariffs by 20-25% due to the crisis and low demand. Thus, in January-February, the occupancy rate was under 50%.
George Copos businessman stated that in January, the businesses of the hotels he owns reported a decrease up to 20%, but for the whole year the decrease on business segment will not exceed 10%.
Athenee Palace Hilton registered a 6% turnover increase and a 10% growth of profit in 2008, compared to the previous year, when the turnover was of EUR 21.7 mil. For the current year, the representatives of the unit set as objective maintaining the results registered in 2008.
