An aqualand will be developed in Dudestii Noi locality, 10 km away from Timisoara city. The aqua land will be developed over the next years, similar to those abroad including in-door Olympic swimming pool, Jacuzzi, indoor and outdoor pools and a spa center.
The investor is the Municipality which plans to access EUR 15 mil. trough the Regional Operational Program. The municipality will have to support 30% of the amount, respectively EUR 4.5 mil. while Alin Nica, Mayor, has to obtain co-financing from the County Council.
The complex which will name Water Universe will lie on 11 ha between Dudestii Noi and Sanandrei localities, including 5 outdoor pools with toboggans, other indoor pools, spa center, sauna, massage, Jacuzzi, Roman baths, gym hall, tennis course and small scale football course, indoor Olympic swimming pool, multifunctional hall, restaurants and 350 parking lots.
Moreover, the Mayor plans to develop an artificial lake surrounded by bike trails to increase the leisure potential of the area.
