Air France - KLM is no longer interested in taking over Austrian Airlines

Add comment
Air France-KLM group decided to withdraw the offer for the Austrian airline company, Austrian Airlines (AUA), as the worldwide financial crisis and the world economy slowdown made the taking over an unattractive option.

The only candidates still interested in taking over the 42.75% package of the AUA shares are Lufthansa and the Russian company S7.

More, the Minister of Transport in Austria, Werner Faymann, stated that the Austrian government would save the national airline company, Asutrian Airlines AG, in case the privatisation procedure fails.
