In the meeting held on June 10, the Government approved a decision specifying that hotel owners will no longer be compelled to renew their classification certificates once every 3 years as the present law stipulates. Elena Udrea, the Minister for Tourism stated that the ministry plans through this decision to eliminate the potential corruption suspicions which could exist if, periodically, the owners of accommodation facilities would have to re-classify their units. Moreover, the Government reduced from 60 to 30 days the submission period for owners certificates as the number of employees of the Department for Authorizations and Control within the ministry grew, mentioned Udrea.
