A new waterway connection between Romania and Bulgaria

Add comment

A ferry line on Danube linking Nikopol, Bulgaria to Turnu Magurele, Romania is to be launched in October this year.

The line would be launched after completing a 10 km road which delayed the project, stated Valerii Jelazkov, mayor of Nikopol locality.

Two ferry boats will perform 12 trips both ways daily, carrying up to six heavy vehicles and 30 light vehicles.

The project is valued at EUR 5 mil.

Similar trips are operated between Romania and Bulgaria on Vidin-Calafat, Silistra-Calarasi and Oriahovo-Bechet routes. Another project is scheduled for Lom-Rastu route.
