68 companies out of HoReCa sector in the first semester

In the first semester of the year, the number of Romanian companies ceasing their activity in HoReCa sector reached 68, compared to the similar period last year, when only 13 companies on this segment were closed, according to the data of the National Trade Register Office.

Out of the 68 companies closed down, 43 represented bars, 18 restaurants and 7 hotels. Most of them were located in Bucharest, Oradea, Constanta, Iasi and Ramnicu Valcea.

At the same time, in the first six months of the year, 2,108 new companies were registered in HoReCa sector, 26 less than the same period in 2008.

According to the National Trade Register Office, out of the 2,108 companies, bars rank first with 1,123 units, followed by restaurants with 869 units and hotels with 116.

The main cities where new companies were set up are Bucharest with 291 new companies, Constanta with 81, Oradea with 52 companies and Cluj-Napoca with 51 units.
