Hotel owners in Romania foresee a decrease of performance level in hotel industry by 6% in 2009 compared to last year, stated Miroslav Dragicevic, founder of the Croatian consultancy company Horwath HTL.
According to Hotel Global Market Sentiment Survey prepared early this year by Horwath HTL, quoted by Dragicevic, Romanian hotel owners are 25-27% less pessimistic than the global average regarding hotel industry perspectives.
According to the World Tourism Organization, the number of tourists traveling abroad increased by 5% in the first half of 2008 and in the second semester of the year, the tourism market registered decreases, which led to a total annual growth by 2%.
