5 star hotels in the capital are diversifying fidelity programs for clients

In the first six months of the year, JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel,  5 star classified, reported an occupancy lrate 14% lower, compared to the same period last year, stated Meda Vasiliu, marketing and sales manager of the hotel.

Estimates are not very optimistic for the current year, but the unit is looking for alternatives to increase the occupancy and maintain services quality, stressed the manager of JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel.

Under these circumstances, various methods to retain the customers are promoted, mainly consisting of loyalty programs such as Marriott Exclusive for the clients in Romania or Marriott Rewards Events at international level, for the customers choosing the chain’s services related to accommodation and events.

Adrian Adam, sales and marketing manager of Radisson SAS Hotel stated that the number of individual bookings and demand for events and parties dropped.

In order to increase sales and maintain loyal customers, Radisson SAS decided to organize several activities and promotions so that customers who often choose the unit for accommodation would constantly benefit of new services. 

The hotel organizes Sunday brunch in its yard during summer, where customers enjoy live music and access to outdoor pool and Jacuzzi.

Sylvia Schlie Petre, owner of Carol Parc hotel, stated that the unit registered an average occupancy rate of 24.85% in the first six months, increasing by approximately 15% compared to last year.

Simona Ritter, sales and marketing manager of Crowne Plaza, stated that the hotel reported an average occupancy of 60% in the first semester of 2009, while the estimates for 2009 envisage am occupancy rate of 58%.
