Add comment
The occupancy rate of 5 star hotels in Bucharest was under 50%, in January 2009, dropping down to 10% compared to the same period last year.

Dina Litzica, PR&Marketing Manager of JW Mariott, estimates for the current year that the occupancy rate will decrease by approximately 10% compared to 2008.

Adrian Adam, Sales& Marketing Manager of Radisson SAS stated that in January, the hotel registered an occupancy rate of 65% during weekdays. In weekends the rate has been much lower.

Simona Ritter, Sales and Marketing Manager of Crowne Plaza, stated that in January, the occupancy rate decreased even to 40%, compared to the annual average of approximately 65%.

Although the first month results are not favorable to the hotel market, industry consultants consider they are not relevant for the whole year.
