At present, Bucharest has 7,396 hotel rooms, 4 and 5 star classified, accounting for 72.88% of the total accommodation capacity of the capital, according to a report of IBC Focus, the company for construction market monitoring. According to the report, two more 5 star hotels will be developed in Bucharest, one located near Baneasa Bridge worth EUR 12 mil., which is under construction and another within a project including also office spaces, named Glass House. A new hotel will be developed on the 4 star segment, as well. By the end of 2008, Bucharest had 7 hotels, 5 star classified: InterContinental, JW Marriott, Athenee Palace Hilton, Casa Capsa, Howard Johnson Grand Plaza, Radisson SAS, Crowne Plaza. According to IBC Focus, 22 hotels 4 and 5 star classified are already under construction in Romania. Most projects are initiated in Bucharest, Bihor, Cluj and Prahova. In addition to the 22 hotels already under developing, other 18 projects are in designing phase. The 5 star hotel in Cluj-Napoca, Grand Hotel will benefit of the largest investment of EUR 40 mil. According to the data of IBC Focus, the luxury hotel market outside Bucharest is still very poorly developed. In 2008, there were only ten hotels 5 star classified.
