Specialists in the Romanian and Serbian Banat region have chosen 22 main tourist attraction of Banat. The selection was made within the project of cross-boarding cooperation “Banat 22 – Promoting 22 locations and tourism events in Banat”, initiated last autumn by the Euro-regional Center for Democracy.
The 11 Romanian destinations are: Sfanta Elena (Caras-Severin county) Czech village, Knoblauch Theatre and Museum in Oravita (Caras-Severin county), Danube’s river Gorge (Bazias - Orsova), Cheile Carasului (Caras-Severin county), Piata Unirii (Timisoara), Poiana Marului (Caras-Severin county). 5 special events held in the region complete the chosen destinations: Jazz Festival in Garana, Plai Festival (Timisoara), the Concert held in Romanesti Cave (Timis county), Jimbo Blues Festival (Jimbolia) and the outdoor Opera and Operetta Festival (Timisoara).
The destinations chosen in Serbian Banat region are Pancevo, Zrenjanin, Kanjiza, Vrset, Kovacica, Bela Crkva, Novi Becej localities, the natural reservation Deliblatska Pescara. The events category includes: International Carnival from Pancevo locality, Beer Days (Zrenjanin) and Tisa river’s Bloom (Kanjiza).
